Where Memories Sleep

Reminiscent of a haunting recent trip to Poland, Where Memories Sleep, captures the idea of the landscape holding past memories while offering present tranquility. 

The capacity to transform is evident in places of deep suffering. To see, learn, understand and feel the horrors that happened on this land in the 1940's, is revealed through the emotional nature of fluid painting. 

This artistry of colour, to me, represents the hiding places: hills, valleys, pastures, rivers, and dull dry areas, where abundant lives were stolen. Behind clusters of birch and pine trees unimaginable atrocities were committed.

The dark blue swatch represents the long night, out of which modern, affluent and creative Poland was born.
